Annual Food for a Woman’s Heart event raises awareness, supports local women’s heart health

According to the CDC, heart disease is the leading cause of death in women. Yet with proper diet and lifestyle changes, it is largely preventable. This heart month, join CoxHealth as we work to raise awareness of this issue with our annual Food for a Woman’s Heart luncheon.

The event, which raises money for the CoxHealth Foundation’s Wheeler Heart and Vascular Fund for Women’s Heart Health, will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Touch Restaurant, 1620 E. Republic Road, in Springfield.

Attendees will enjoy a delicious, heart-healthy lunch from Touch; a fun raffle with great prizes including gift baskets from local businesses, gift certificates, and a two-night stay at Grand Crowne Resort in Branson; mini-spa experiences including chair massages and manicures; and much more.

Cardiologist Dr. Danny Penick will give the keynote address about women’s heart health, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Tickets are $20 per person for general admission, or $25 for VIP seating. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the CoxHealth Foundation at 269-4150 or visit www.coxhealthfoundation.com.
